A fascinating variety of swims exist which include fast shallows, deep pools, long gravel bottom glides and mysterious eddies bordered by undercut banks and overhanging willows.
Barbel are both prolific and very large in the Haven stretch of the Teme. Many “doubles” have been landed, including fish well above 12lbs. Anyone fishing the stretch can expect either quantity or quality and sometimes both.
Chub are also abundant plus fine pike, roach and dace. |
A session at the Haven offers excellent variety and a genuine chance of personal bests and “red letter days”.
Whether you favour ledgering meat, feeder fishing, long trotting or roving you will find a perfect swim to suit your needs.
Most importantly a maximum of one to four anglers are permitted on the water, guaranteeing peace, seclusion and a good choice of swims for all the Haven anglers.
A designated parking area is provided by the river with an option for people to camp (by prior appointment only).
The riverbank has a mown footpath which leads off into various swims that are already cut out, steeper swims have ropes to assist in wet conditions.
We generally prefer anglers to use barbless hooks and insist on absolutely no keep nets. |
